Electromechanical Drives
TOX Pressotechnik offers an extensive range of electromechanical drives, known as the TOX ElectricDrive. Each ElectricDrive electromechanical drive system consists of a servo spindle Series EPMx or EPQx, a line-X axis controller, cables, ballast resistor, TOXsoftWare and a terminal.
The ElectricDrive line’s unique engineering feature is its modular design, allowing for flexibility and adaptability to the customer’s needs and requirements. These electric press drives are modular electromechanical spindles with press force capacities of up to 400 tons, and can be used as stand-alone units or in complex machines, depending on end user needs.
The TOX ElectricDrive line includes the following models of Servo Spindles:
Series EPQS Servo Spindle (Basic)
- Electromechanical servo drive with ball screw spindle as part of the standard design.
- Pressforce up to 20 tons (3 types, with various pressforce capabilities).
- Standard stroke of 7.87 inches.
- Integrated holding brake.
- Force measurement via motor current.
- Modular design; precise guidance.
- Compact flange dimension.
- Highly dynamic, fast.
- Long lifetime.
- Applications include assembly machines and press machines.
Series EPMS Servo Spindle (Standard)
- Electromechanical servo drive with planetary roller screw spindle.
- Pressforce from .025 tons to 20 tons (6 types, with various pressforce capacities).
- Standard stroke of 9.84 inches to 11.81 inches.
- Highly precise force measurements.
- Modular design.
- Must be operated in a properly enclosed/guarded work area.
- Designed for long operating lifetime.
- Applications include assembly machines and forming machines.
Series EPMK Servo Spindle (Compact)
- Electromechanical servo drive with planetary roller screw spindle.
- Pressforce ranging from .05 tons to 40 tons (6 types).
- Modular design.
- Highly precise force measurements.
- Meets Safety Category 4 with optional holding brake.
- Applications include
assembly machines and forming machines.
Series EPMR Servo Spindle (Ultra Compact)
- Precision flange.
- Electromechanical servo drive with planetary roller screw spindle.
- Pressforce ranging from 5.5 tons to 10 tons.
- Standard stroke 3.94 inches.
- Meets Safety Category 4 with optional holding/safety brake.
- Applications include locations with limited space requirements.
- Also for TOX Robotic Units Type TZ, and as a press drive (with optional safety brake).
Series EPC - PowerKurver (TOX Electric PowerKurver EPC 90)
A versatile electromechanical servo press with planetary roller screw spindle in the drive. Based on its geometry, the unit’s operating angle of 90 degrees is broken into 2 stages - a low force approach and a high force stroke.
Other ElectricDrive accessories include the line of single axis controllers - line-Q2 (for servo spindle EPQS), line-Q, and the line-X high-end controller; and TOXsoftWare, which gives the user the capability to visualize up to five servo spindle drives with a single software platform.
